Couples Counseling

The Full Story

Marriage is a sacred covenant between a man, a woman, and God. God intended this relationship to be deeply fulfilling and fruitful. At Whole Families, we understand that couples, whether newly married or together for many years, may find themselves struggling due to past hurts and unresolved pain. Often, individuals enter marriage with wounded hearts, and when these old wounds are touched by a spouse, it can lead to reactions that neither partner fully understands.

In our counseling sessions, we aim to uncover and address these deep-seated pains, including those caused by your spouse. This process will be done together, ensuring both partners feel safe and supported. When needed, brief individual sessions may occur to allow for personal reflection. We will then bring these hurts to the Lord in prayer, seeking His healing, and guide you in forgiving each other fully. As both husband and wife work through these issues with God’s help, the counselor will provide careful guidance on how to care for each other's hearts.

Understanding and practicing heart care in marriage is vital. God created us, both male and female, with a need for emotional care from others, particularly from our spouse. At Whole Families, we not only teach you how God cares for your heart but also provide practical tools, such as daily questions to foster emotional intimacy. It is essential to communicate with God about how to best serve your spouse, allowing His care to bring healing and genuine forgiveness so you can love selflessly in your marriage.
